Trampoline Maintenance: Simple Checks That Matter

General advice on looking after a garden trampoline. BERG's manual for your model comes first.

Looking after a trampoline is mostly a matter of looking at it. A regular walk-around catches a torn net or shifted padding before it becomes a problem.

What follows is general, common-sense advice. It is not a substitute for BERG's manual, which gives the care instructions for your particular model. Where the two differ, follow the manual.

    What to check regularly

    Safety net

Tears, holes, loose stitching, and that the entrance still closes properly. This applies if your model has a net; InGround and FlatGround models are sold with or without one.

    Jumping mat

Holes, fraying, and stitching coming away where the mat meets the springs.

    Springs

Any that are missing, stretched or no longer sitting properly in place.

    Padding

That it still covers the springs and frame all the way round, has not shifted, and is not torn.

    Frame and legs

That everything is still firmly joined and, on an above-ground model, that it still sits level.

    Day-to-day care

    • Clear leaves, twigs and other debris off the mat rather than letting them sit.
    • Keep the area around the trampoline clear, and keep the space underneath it clear too. Nothing should be stored under a trampoline.
    • Do not use it when the mat is wet or in high wind.
    • After a storm, walk around it and repeat the checks above before anyone gets back on.
    • If something is worn or damaged, stop using the trampoline until the part is replaced.

    Replacement parts

Replace worn parts with genuine BERG parts made for your model. We keep them in stock. Have the model name and size to hand and ring 021 601 7112; if you are not sure which model you have, send us a photo.

For how the trampoline should be used, see the safety guide.

    Questions

How often should I check my trampoline?

We do not set a fixed schedule. A quick look before it is used and a closer check after stormy weather and at the start of the season is sensible; BERG's manual for your model says what BERG asks for.

Can I get replacement parts for a BERG trampoline?

Yes. We keep genuine BERG replacement parts in stock. Ring us with the model and size of your trampoline and we will tell you which part you need.

How do I clean the mat?

Start by clearing off leaves and debris. For anything more than that, follow the cleaning advice in BERG's manual for your model.

What should I do if I find a damaged part?

Stop using the trampoline and replace the part with a genuine BERG one made for your model before anyone jumps on it again.

Need a part, or thinking of a new trampoline?

Ring us for genuine BERG parts, or book a free garden consultation and we will recommend a size and shape for your garden.
